Terrallo • Finishing process that integrates g® upgraded recycled graphite

How was it born?

Enrico Girotti, designer and founder of Lapiega and Edizioni Enrico Girotti, uniquely combines design thinking with craftsmanship. Through the exclusive artisanal technique "Terrallo – the living skin of metal", he gives each furniture piece a distinctive, unrepeatable character. In his collaboration with Lanerossi, Girotti embraced the opportunity to incorporate g® upgraded recycled graphite into his creative process, resulting in unique pieces with a strong personal and sustainable identity.

Terrallo - The living skin of metal.

Conceived as a special finish for one-of-a-kind pieces, Terrallo expresses Enrico Girotti’s desire to bring life even to the final stage of the design process—driven by the idea that metal is never just a material, but a medium that tells the story of the hands that shape it.

Each Terrallo finish is unrepeatable. Every object is a unique, analog original, much like the earth-based pigments that compose it, imbuing each piece with a deeply human and tactile quality.

The artisanal application of g® upgraded recycled graphite onto metal has opened new aesthetic and technical horizons, allowing Girotti to explore never-before-seen surfaces and nuances. This process led to the creation of the limited-edition Risvolto coffee table series, where each piece embodies a harmonious balance between material and innovation.

Enrico Girotti’s creations were presented during Milan Design Week, in a perfect dialogue between art and design, at the Lanerossi showroom—where the g® upgraded project came to life in an extraordinary way, completing the story of this groundbreaking material.
